A practical guide to hypnosis (part 2)

Facts and Myths About Hypnosis

Many people often fear going through hypnosis because they fear being helpless and divulging their deepest, darkest secrets which can be harmful to their jobs, relationships etc.

This frequent myth is simply not true.  When in hypnosis, you are in total control of yourself. The hypnotist can only guide you but he/she is not in control of your mind.  Others think that hypnosis makes you sleep, but the fact is that you are only in a relaxed state–you cannot reason if you are asleep! It is also possible to lie to a hypnotherapist, and this is worth a mention of caution: if you give the hypnotherapist the wrong information, you might end up being given the wrong suggestions and this aggravate, or at least be ineffectual in solving, your problems. There is also no clear sign that you are being hypnotized, when you are in that relaxed state, you can have any type of feeling: of heaviness, lightness, relaxation, excited, sensational, etc. It is also important to note that hypnotists do not possess any form of power, they only guide you through the process, and have specialized knowledge of how to work with your subconscious mind to achieve your goals.

More information on these common misconceptions are discussed in the video below.  Enjoy!!
